Have zombies taken over Clark County Kentucky?

I've been following this one as best I could all week. An 18 year old high school student, William Poole, has been charged with a felony count of "terroristic threatening" over [reportedly] a story he wrote in his private journal.

There has been very little media coverage, so we're pretty much stuck with what these few articles have said:

http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/news/10982804.htm
http://www.winchestersun.com/articles/2005/02/24/local_news/news01.txt
http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/news/state/10991368.htm
http://www.lex18.com/global/story.asp?s=2989614

The accused claims "..."It's a fake story. I made it up. I've been working on one of my short stories, (and) the short story they found was about zombies. Yes, it did say a high school. It was about a high school over ran by zombies."

While the local police say:

"Anytime you make any threat or possess matter involving a school or function it's a felony in the state of Kentucky," said Winchester Police detective Steven Caudill.

...Pool was trying to "recruit a gang to take over the school," Detective Berl Perdue said.

"He didn't have a gang, but he was
attempting to organize one," Perdue said.

"No direct threats were made against named people, Winchester police Detective Steven Caudill said."

Shortly after reading about this on Monday I contacted the Kentucky ACLU, www.aclu-ky.org, the University of Kentucky ALCU, http://www.uky.edu/StudentOrgs/ACLU/, and the national level of the ACLU, www.aclu.org, to see if the Americal Civil Liberties Union had any comments.

So far the only response I've received is:

"Dear Mr. Raistrick,

Thank you for contacting the ACLU.

Our Web site (http://www.aclu.org) has a search feature located at the bottom
of the home page. By typing in a search request, you should find the latest
news, court briefings and archival information on this topic. You can also use
the Advanced Search available at http://www.aclu.org/News/AdvancedSearch.cfm ..."

Mind you, I had searched both manually and by engine to see if any commentary had been published. I've noted this to the ACLU contact that emailed me and asked again if they have any comments.

I also hunted around to see if the Kentucky court systems had any information regarding William's case online, but could only find the District Court dockets for the week (with no historical archives going back beyond "today").

If anyone has any more details on this case (or are willing to contact the courts directly to get copies of the public records), I'd love to hear about it.

There is also a comment on this site from someone who claims to be a student at this high school. He/she suggests that "..
it's no zombie story."

FS: 85 VW Quantum GL5, Orlando FL

Folks,

The time has come to get rid of the Quantum. It's an 85 GL5. Mid 100k miles-ish. I've forgotten, but probably have it written down somewhere (speedo was changed a few times).

This was a WV car most of it's life and was of course winter driven. It's not rust free. Nor it is entirely straight...it's been bonked around a few times. And the hood doesn't match.

But before I parked it it ran just fine (parked due to the rad fan dying).

I've replaced the radiator fan and radiator with good used ones. New rad. fan switch. New battery. Pretty reasonable (I have exact mileage written somewhere) shape Sumitomo SRIXON-4s on aftermarket 14" alloys. Also rebuilt the shifter pivot bearing and it shifts nice again.

While it's been sitting the alternator died again. It's an Advance Autoparts rebuilt unit with a lifetime warranty. I'll be happy to help the buyer get another if they'd like, and give them the information required to keep using said warranty. Hell, buy the car and I'll even be motivated to replace it myself.

The car has been off the road for about 2 years. Starts and runs fine, a bit rough when cold and seems to be down on power a bit. Probably could use having the injectors cleaned...

This was my daily and/or backup driver for years. I'll include the Bentley and the rear alignment shims [and specs] if you'd like to fix the slightly-out rear alignment.

Interior is in good shape, though there are a few bits and pieces missing from the dash. I probably have them all around here somewhere (though some may be in Savannah...). Headliner has fallen on the edges and the back, and before I got it someone had pulled the fabric from the inside sunroof cover.

Sunroof operates fine, but does leak sometimes a bit. I suspect the left front drain tube is cracked, has a hole, or is partly off the nipple....I honestly never looked very far. Recently re-lubed the tracks and cables.

I've got matching keys for all the locks, and the power locks do work. (though they were a bit fiddly last time I tried, there may be something going on with the trigger in the drivers door?)

Anyway. It's an ugly car that no one wants to restore...but it could run great again with a bit of work (or even just some mileage on it!).

I wouldn't hesitate to [after an oil/brake fluid change and fixing the alt] hop in and drive it anywhere....but I just don't need it anymore.

Make me an offer and come get it!

I'd love to see $900 out of this, but like I said, make an offer.
